Evolution: bogus science used to attack religion
THE real driving power behind the theory of evolutionis not science but hatred for religion, a leading US sociologist of religion has claimed.
Professor Rodney Stark
has argued that Darwin’s
theory of evolution is bad
science, with virtually no
fossil evidence to back it up.
“Rather, from the very
start,” he said, evolution
was primarily “an attack on
religion by militant atheists
who wrap themselves in the
mantle of science.”
Darwin argued that
species like dogs, apes, and
human beings came into
existence by the gradual
change of one species into
another.
He was disturbed that the
fossil evidence did not back
his theory but hoped further
research would produce
the fossils to show the
gradual transitions between
species.
“Today, the fossil record is
enormous compared to
Darwin’s day, but,” said
Stark, “the facts are
unchanged. The links are
still missing; species appear
suddenly and then remain
relatively unchanged” until
they disappear.
He quoted evolutionist
Steven Stanley that “the
known fossil record... offers
no evidence that the gradualistic
model can be valid.”
